It seems like yesterday that Muse were just entering showbiz, but with the 20th anniversary of their Showbiz album happening this month, the atmospheric rockers are reflecting not only on that disc, but the evolution of the beginning of their career.

A new box set called Origin of Muse will arrive on Dec. 6, including the Showbiz album, but also revisiting their early demos, their first EPs and their breakout second album Origin of Symmetry.

As seen in the photo below, the collection comes housed in a 48-page casebound book which fits in a slipcase with an anti-scratch and matte laminated finish with a spot gloss. All three members — Matt Bellamy, Dominic Howard and Chris Wolstenholme — provide an in-depth interview, reflecting on their early days. The book also comes with posters, set lists, photographs and contact sheets that are inserts that may be pulled out from the book. You’ll also find the original artwork for each release, and all CDs and vinyl.

Included are nine CDs and four colored vinyl platters. The band’s earliest, previously unreleased Newton Abbot demos make up the first CD. Their EPs and the Showbiz demos also make up one disc. Showbiz will also be represented through the remastered full album, a b-sides disc and a live disc of BBC Radio One broadcasts featuring the band that came during 1999 and 2000.

As for Origin of Symmetry, fans can get their hands on the instrumental demos, the original album remastered, a b-sides release and Muse’s full performance of the album at the 2011 Reading Festival.

The four colored vinyl records are the Showbiz and Origin of Symmetry albums remastered on 180 gram heavyweight vinyl.

You can pre-order Origin of Muse here, and look for the band on tour at these stops.
